Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva - APA-Economics. Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources conducted regular monitoring of pollution of transboundary rivers in the second ten-day of August.
The ministry said the monitoring revealed that phenols and copper compounds exceed the maximum permissible concentration by times in the Kyur River that underwent transboundary pollution in Georgia.
Phenol pollution exceeds MPC by 2 times and copper compounds by 1.1 times in the Shikhli-2 area, phenols exceeded MPC by 2 times and cooper compounds by 2 times in the Aghstafachay River and 2 times and 2 times respectively in the Aghstafa Reservoir.
Ammonium, nitrate and nitrite ions are within the permissible norm.
Phenols and copper compounds also exceeded MPC by times in the Araz River that is transboundary with Armenia.
Phenols and copper compounds exceeded MPC by 4 times in Horadiz area of the River, 3 times and 4 times in Bahmantapa and Shahseven I.
Oxygen concentrations in equilibrium with the air range from about 5.11 mg/liter to 7.7 mg/liter.
