Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş on the sidelines of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Baku, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis told APA.

During the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the high-level development of brotherly and allied relations between the two countries in all areas. It was noted that Azerbaijan and Türkiye, guided by National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s principle of “One nation, two states,” demonstrate solidarity and mutual support on all issues.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stated that relations between the two countries have reached their highest level thanks to the brotherly ties based on mutual respect and trust between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as well as their political will and determination.

The parties also highlighted the important role of parliaments in further expanding bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the current level of interparliamentary cooperation.

During the conversation, Numan Kurtulmuş recalled with satisfaction his meeting earlier today with President Ilham Aliyev and shared his positive impressions of the talks.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Numan Kurtulmuş met with Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova on the sidelines of the 20th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Baku, APA reports.

Numan Kurtulmuş shared information about the meeting on X.

“During the meeting, we mutually expressed our satisfaction with the further strengthening of the deep friendship and brotherhood ties between our countries across all areas. We also exchanged views on developments taking place at the regional and global levels. During the conversation, we once again reaffirmed our determination to further strengthen the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in all directions in line with the Shusha Declaration,” the GNAT Speaker noted.
