Azeri universities to access the Net next year

Baku. Ä°lhama Ä°sabalayeva - APA-Economics. Under the 2008-2012 State Program for Informatization of All Educational Institutions approved by a presidential decree on June 10, universities will get access to the Internet in Azerbaijan next year.
Under the Program, it is intended to create a unified educational information environment to improve the quality of education by using IT and integration into the world educational system.
Samir mammadov, Officer of the Ministry of Education, said the priority will be given to universities where future teachers are studying.
There include Azerbaijan Pedagogical University, Baku Slavic University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Baku Pedagogical Institute for Retaining, and Reskilling.
Azerbaijan plans to spend AZN 8.5 million in 2008 and up to $20 million in 2009 on the program.
