Local authoritiesâ€™ heads held accountable

Justice Ministry revealed serious irregularities in the activity of 17 municipalities during the investigations. Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched criminal case on the base of these materials. Khatayi municipality of Khatayi region, Astara municipality of Astara region, Garayazi of Goychay region, Gizilagac of Masalli and other municipalities are among them.
Mr.Salimzadeh saying that 16.703 municipality acts have been submitted to Center for Municipalities for being investigated in administrative control rule underlined that it is increased to 65% from 2005. He said that proposals were given to municipalities for abolishing or amending 988 acts as a result of investigations. 466 municipality decisions have been abolished, 22 have been amended, 48 decisions sent for court hearing.
Mr.Salimzadeh also stated protocols on 146 municipality chiefs were sent to court last year for not sending their municipality acts to Justice Ministry for being investigated administratively. Organizationâ€™s officials are preparing proposals for municipalities for preventing such cases.
