Azerbaijan assumes chairmanship of the Parliamentary Union of OIC member states - UPDATED

The chairmanship of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) member states has passed to Azerbaijan, APA reports.

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova will serve as chair of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Note that the transfer of the chairmanship took place during the official opening ceremony of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States.

The chairmanship was previously held by Indonesia.
