The aircraft newly added to the fleet of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has successfully passed all safety and functional tests, Renat Huseynov, Head of the Flight Safety Department of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and captain of the Airbus A320 aircraft, said in a comment to APA during the delivery ceremony of the first Airbus A321neo aircraft designated for AZAL in Hamburg.
According to him, the aircraft had been awaited by AZAL for a long time, and preparations for its arrival had begun well in advance.
“We have now completed the aircraft’s test flight. During the flight, all safety and functional systems of the aircraft were thoroughly checked. Representatives of Airbus Corporate also participated in the test flight. No deficiencies were identified during the inspection, and it was confirmed that the aircraft can be safely and comfortably operated on any route in accordance with AZAL’s requirements,” he said.
Renat Huseynov noted that the new aircraft will primarily be used on medium-haul routes.
“It is mainly intended for flights lasting between two and five hours. These include destinations in Europe, as well as eastern, northern and southern directions. Overall, the aircraft will be used on various routes,” he emphasized.
According to the AZAL official, one of the main advantages of the new aircraft is its higher passenger capacity.
“All aircraft we have acquired in recent years meet modern standards. This aircraft also complies with all those standards. The main difference is its ability to carry more passengers,” Renat Huseynov added.
He also stated that several more new aircraft are expected to join AZAL’s fleet in the near future.
“Our teams are currently carrying out the necessary procedures at the delivery center in Hamburg. We expect new aircraft to join the fleet in the coming weeks and months,” he noted.
According to Renat Huseynov, Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft are expected to be delivered in the near future. No additional details were provided regarding the number or value of the new orders.
