Restrictions will be imposed on the operations of several airports in Iran in connection with the funeral ceremonies of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
Iran Airports Company announced that Tehran's Mehrabad Airport will completely suspend operations on July 3 and 6.
According to the information, Mehrabad Airport will operate with restrictions on July 4, 5, 7, and 8.
Mashhad International Airport will suspend operations on July 9.
Note that the funeral ceremonies for Ali Khamenei will be held on July 4-5 at the Mosalla complex in Tehran, after which the body will be taken to the city of Qom.
Following the ceremony in Qom, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei will be buried in Mashhad on July 9 in accordance with his will.
Seyyed Ali Khamenei was killed together with close family members during a joint US-Israeli attack on Tehran on February 28. He was subsequently succeeded by his son, Mojtaba Khamenei.
