The mission of the UN World Food Program in Azerbaijan contributes to 154, 000 people every year. But the organization faced 67% deficit. If donors not support, the organization would be in need to suspend its activity. Linn Miller, chief of directorate of UN WFP for Azerbaijan told APA.
Miller underlined that they appreciate Azerbaijani government’s efforts towards increasing the living standards of internally displaced persons and refugees. Linn Miller emphasized that most people are in need of contribution in Azerbaijan. ”The government takes care of displaced persons. We assume that as Azerbaijan’s economy grows, WFP’s responsibilities will reduce, and some of the projects will be implemented by Azeri government. But donors’ financial support does not have to be suspended completely in transition period.”/APA/
