"Artificial intelligence is no longer the main driver of future development, but of today's development. At the same time, the role of artificial intelligence in ensuring the security of states is increasing and has already become central. It is no secret that the development of artificial intelligence in the world's leading countries is progressing faster than expected, creating both new opportunities and new threats," First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva said at the first meeting of the Digital Development Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 29, APA reports.
The First Vice President stressed that Azerbaijan must be prepared for new challenges, particularly existing and emerging risks in the fields of cybersecurity and information security.
"Our activities require the active and effective joint work of all state institutions. Our goal is to make Azerbaijan one of the region's leading countries in digital development and artificial intelligence. We must study foreign and international experience and make use of successful models. However, all decisions must be made based on factors that meet Azerbaijan's national interests and needs," she said.
