Incentives have been introduced for foreign producers filming in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
This is reflected in amendments to the Law on Cinematography approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
Under the law, the implementation of incentive measures to attract foreign producers to film production in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan has been included among the main forms of state support for cinematography. In order to attract foreign producers to produce films in Azerbaijan, part of the expenses incurred for film production will be reimbursed.
The partial reimbursement of expenses incurred for the production of foreign and co-produced films will be carried out in accordance with the rules and conditions determined by the body (institution) designated by the relevant executive authority.
According to the law, a foreign producer is defined as a producer who is a foreign citizen, a stateless person, or a foreign legal entity.
