The TRT and TRT Spor channels have obtained the broadcasting rights for the matches of the FIFA Club World Cup, organized in the USA from June 15 to July 13, 2025, only within the territory of the Republic of Türkiye, Taleh Guliyev, Head of the Communication Sector of the Audiovisual Council, said in response to APA’s inquiry.
He noted that the broadcasting rights for these matches in the territory of Azerbaijan have been purchased by the respective local broadcasters: “In accordance with international practice, in such cases, as part of the exclusive broadcasting rights, the broadcast of foreign channels is suspended during broadcasting of the matches. This practice was also used during the broadcast of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 UEFA European Championship matches.”
