Print media entities operating without being registered in the Media Registry will be fined up to AZN 5,000, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new proposed Article 381.15 of the Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan on administrative offenses, which was discussed at today's session of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).
According to the draft, physical persons will be fined from 500 to 1,000 manat, officials from 1,500 to 2,500 manat, and legal entities from 3,000 to 5,000 manat for the publication or dissemination of printed media products by a print media entity operating without being registered in the Media Registry, or by the entity, publishing house (publisher), or distributor.
In the abovementioned Article of the Code, a distributor is understood to be a physical or legal person who, by contracting with a publishing house or publisher or on other legal grounds, carries out the distribution and sale of publishing products.
The draft law was adopted in the first reading.
