Three apply for the post of Public Television General Director

Baku. Kamala Guliyevaâ€“APA. General Director of the Public Broadcasting Company (ITV) Ismayil Omarov ends his office. The Public Broadcasting Council announced the contest for this post from March 31 to April 7. Chief of the Broadcasting Council Jahangir Mammadli told APA the applications are received within eight days, except Sunday, at 10.00-18.00 in the ITV office. He said three have applied for the ITV General Directorâ€™s post so far. â€œI think the contest will not be harder than previous one in 2005, because the Broadcasting Council has an experience in this field. In the last contest, most of the applicants were not the TV and radio journalist. This time, the applicants are requested to have an experience in the broadcasting field. I think there will not be any problem and very responsible people will join the contestâ€.
The Council chairman said ITV General Director Ismayil Omarov has not applied yet. â€œAccording to the law, the incumbent general director can apply and be elected. I donâ€™t know his plans. It will be probably clear within 2-3 daysâ€.

The applicants have to submit application addressed to the Chairman of the Broadcasting Council, copy of ID-card, copy of the university diploma confirmed by notary, extract from the employment history, biography and two photos.
