Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized US President Donald Trump over an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin on supplying Russian diesel fuel to global markets, describing the move as insincere toward Ukraine and contrary to the principles of partnership, APA reports citing UNIAN.
Zelensky made the remarks in a voice message sent to journalists via WhatsApp.
The Ukrainian President noted that his country’s delegation is on a two-day visit to Florida for talks with US officials aimed at ending the war or, at least, securing a ceasefire.
He said an initial agreement could involve halting attacks on energy infrastructure.
“This is very important for our people and our families. At the very moment our delegation is holding talks with the American side in Florida, the US President is negotiating with the head of the Kremlin, the leader of this war and aggression,” Zelensky said.
According to Zelensky, the agreement between Trump and Putin to allow Russian diesel exports would enable Moscow to generate additional revenue to continue its war against Ukraine.
