He said that the Council’s secretariat and commission for complaints had already determined 30 “racketeering” newspapers.
“But we should examine the activity of these newspapers and then announce the list. The list of 36 newspapers recently declared as “racketeering” papers has been sent to all bodies,” he said.

Amashov said took a stance on “racketeering” of correspondents of “Respublika ganunlari”, “Dovlet ganunlari” and “Ganun ve gercheklik” newspapers.
“These newspapers were registered in 2007-2008 and are not the members of the Press Council. The council has 180 members. A refugee woman appealed to the council in connection with newspaper “Respublika ganunlari” last year. The Press Council wants to control all printed media in the country. Therefore, we asked the publishing houses to include the Press Council into the list of bodies, to which they send copies of newspapers compulsorily. We want to be aware of the activity of all newspapers printed in the country,” he said.
