National Television and Radio Council Chairman: â€œThe programs of Mir Company and â€œTurk muzuk birliyiâ€ can be transmitted in Azerbaijan only through cable networkâ€

Taking a stance on the plan on full coverage of Mir TV and Radio Company in CIS adopted at the November 14 meeting of CIS heads of governments, Maharramli said national frequency would not be given to that TV channel.
â€œMir will not be transmitted on national frequencies, because its language is not Azerbaijani. Transmission of foreign TV channels in Azerbaijan is forbidden. The channel will continue transmission through cable network. It is transmitted in Russia in this way, too. The channel has already had talks with some cable networks. The Council will give necessary support,â€ he said.
Nushiravan Maharramli said â€œTurk muzik birliyiâ€ channel would also be transmitted through cable network like in all Turkic-speaking countries.
â€œThey appealed to the Council in connection with this, the channelâ€™s transmission through cable network can be considered in future,â€ he said.
Maharramli also said that all preparations had been made to open regional channels in Shaki and Zagatala.
The chairman of the council said regional TV channel would also be opened in Shirvan.
