Democratic Journalists League publicizes results of monitoring

Baku – APA. Democratic Journalists League has publicized the results of the monitoring related with the situation in the field of freedom of speech and press. Democratic Journalists League told APA that 29 facts were registered in September.
“6 workers of mass media were interrogated by the employees of the procurator’s office, 2 workers were detained by the police by undergoing pressure. One editor-in chief of the mass media was sentenced to 1 year 6 months conditional imprisonment by the decision of Yasamal District Court by being accused with articles No. 188 (violating right of property in land) and No. 315.1 (showing resistance by using force against representative of the authority connected with performing official duties) of the Criminal Code. One account of the mass media was frozen by Head Office on the Control over Implementation of the Court Decisions of the Ministry of Justice for not paying back of its debt being more than 20 thousand manat to some organizations,” the League said.
