Aflatun Amashov re-elected as Press Council Chairman

According to the results of voting, Mubariz Zeynalov, Gadir Ibrahimli, Malik Bayramov and Elshad Eyvazli (substitute member) have been elected to the Control-Inspection Commission of the Press Council. Further, members of the Governing Board of the Press Council from the media organizations and public community have been announced. Aflatun Amashov, Elchin Shikhli, Rashad Majid, Bakhtiyar Sadigov, Vusale Mahirgizi, Mehman Aliyev, Umud Mirzayev, Vugar Rahimzadeh, Tapdig Abbas, Aydin Guliyev (substitute member) and Akif Ashirli (substitute member) were elected from the mass media and Vugar Safarli, Kamal Abdulla, Haji Sabir Hasanli, Agil Abbas, Mushfig Alasgarli, Jamil Hasanli , Gafar Chakhmagli (substitute member) and Gulu Maharramli from the public community. Aflatun Amashov, Rashad Majid, Agil Abbas and Umud Mirzayev have been nominated for the Press Council chairmanship. Majid, Abbas and Mirzayev withdrew their candidacy. Amashov was re-elected as a Chairman of the Press Council against one and four abstain votes. The Chairman of the Council thanked his supporters and promised to do his best for the development of the press.
