Norwayâ€™s Foreign Minister visits Public Television

Baku. Mahbube Gasimbeyli-APA. Norwayâ€™s Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store visited Public Broadcasting Company of Azerbaijan on Tuesday within his official visit to Azerbaijan, public relations department of the Company told APA. Director General of the Public Broadcasting Company Ismail Omarov informed the guest about the companyâ€™s activity and said that Public Television and Radio serve the interests of public community and gained viewersâ€™ sympathy in a short time. Omarov said public television and radio attached great importance to the cooperation with OSCE and world public broadcasters. â€œThe OSCE-initiated project supported by Norwayâ€™s Government plays important role in the improving of staffâ€™s skills and gaining of the international experience as wellâ€.
Norwegian Government sponsored the trainings BBC experts provided the Public Television staff with the OSCE support. Jonas Gahr Store said his Government intended to develop trainings of public broadcaster staff in Azerbaijan. â€œI have watched the Public Television this morning. There is a public broadcaster in Norway too. I think the public broadcaster should be independent first of allâ€.
The guest looked the producing of programs at the public television studios and gave an exclusive interview to â€œJarchiâ€ news program of Public Television.
