Second conference of Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists to take place in Baku

Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli-APA. The second conference of Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists will be held in Baku in April. The Press Council told APA that the Press and Information Office, Azerbaijan’s Press Council and Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan organized the conference. Famous media representatives, experts and heads of leading media outlets of the two countries will attend the conference. The Turkish delegation also includes Salih Melik, Director General of Press and Information and Mehmet Aydin, Minister of State.
The guests will visit Martyrs’ Alley, Honor of Alley and monument erected in memory of Turkish soldiers died in Baku, attend the scientific-practical seminar in Baku Slavic University and have meetings in the editorial offices of the leading media outlets. The visit will last till May 1.
Chairman of Azerbaijani Press Council Aflatun Amashov said it was the second conference bringing Azerbaijani and Turkish journalists together. The first event took place in spring, 2006. Common and different features of the two countries’ medias were discussed and aspects of joint activity were determined then.
“Modern state of Azerbaijani and Turkish media, their difficulties, place and role of Turkish-language media in the globalizing world will be discussed during this conference. Lectures will also be delivered on theoretical directions of the journalism of the two countries”, he said.
