There is no death penalty only in 30% of the US states, professor of George Town University Klide Wilcos said while meeting with the chiefs of Azerbaijani media outlets visiting the US, APA reports. Professor said that this kind of punishment is frequently applied in Texas and Florida. He noted that the majority of the death penalties are applied in these two states.
Though there is death penalty in New-York, this punishment has not been applied for the past 25 years.
Speaking about other peculiarities of the states the professor said that euthanasia is not crime in the state of Oregon, while in other states the doctor doing it is held accountable.
Prostitution has been legalized in the state of Nevada, but is forbidden the cities Las Vegas and Riana city. There is profit tax in Texas and sale tax in Washington.
Klide Wilcos said the states have laws, courts, local Criminal and Tax codes and the central power can not intervene in this. /APA/
