Ali Hasanov: â€œI am unaware of pardon decree on the occasion of National Press Dayâ€

We do not plan any national events as the National Press Day is not an anniversary celebration. However, the National Press Day will be markedâ€, Chief of the Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Ali Hasanov told APA. He said the government support actions for the media development were held so far and the media organizations received non-recurrent assistances by the presidential order, which were directed toward the strengthening of material-technical basis of the editorial offices and social protection of the journalists.

Hasanov said the development of the press was successful in the past year. â€œThe special concept was adopted last year for the development of the press and the Government Media Support Fund was established to realize this concept. I think the fund and its observation council will make all efforts to contribute to the development of the national press in Azerbaijan, to the deepening of free ideas and political pluralismâ€.

The department chief said he was unaware of pardon decree on the occasion of National Press Day.
