The share of non-communicable diseases is increasing in Azerbaijan, Ramik Guliyev, head of the Health Policy Department of the Ministry of Health, said at an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to World Lung Health Day, organized by the Ministry and the Scientific Research Institute of Lung Diseases, APA reports.
He said that when looking at the medical and biological picture of recent years, it can be seen that non-communicable diseases prevail:
“At the same time, we are witnessing another medical trend. Thus, average life expectancy worldwide has exceeded 73 years in recent years. In Azerbaijan, this indicator exceeded 77 years by the end of 2025. Nevertheless, we should think about how healthily we live the additional years of life we have gained. Along with the increase in life expectancy, the role of non-communicable diseases in particular has also increased,” he noted.
