â€œRacketâ€ publications list will be extended

Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. â€œThe list of â€œracketâ€ publications will be extended in near futureâ€, chairman of the anti-â€œracketâ€ journalism commission of the Press Council Vugar Rahimzadeh said, APA reports. His commission was established at the 5th congress of the journalists of Azerbaijan. â€œNearly 20 publications were identified as â€œracketâ€. There were more than 3000 registered newspapers and journals until the last congress. This figure was increased now. It is an indication of democracy, but on the other hand, unfortunately the most of newspapers and magazines are established for the individual interests. There are 71 publications in the â€œblack listâ€ of â€œracketâ€ publications identified by the Press Council and the public community was already informed about themâ€.

The commission chairman said the Press Council was finishing the investigation of new list of â€˜racketâ€ publications. The list of â€œracketâ€ publications was printed and spread in the capital and regions. After that relations with the public community were extended. â€œWe are receiving 7-8 complaints every day. We will publicize the title of those publications after the final decision. There are complaints about nearly 70 media organizations from Ganja and Sumgayit only. We are investigating these cases now and making recommendations to the printing houses and distributors. We are highly appreciating the activity of the printing house â€œAzerbaijanâ€ and we hope that other organizations will show respect to the progressive traditions of our media and will avoid the cooperation with â€œracketâ€ publicationsâ€.
