Ex-Servicemen Youth Awareness Public Association hosts APA Director General

Baku. Ramil Mammadli- APA. Members of Ex-Servicemen Youth Awareness Public Association have today met with Mrs. Vusale Mahirgizi, Director General of Azeri Press Agency.
The meeting discussed the current situation on Azerbaijani Armed Forces, media coverage and reaction to processes in the army, youth awareness raising activities, public opinion of the military system and other related issues.
Emin Hasanli, Chairman of the Public Association, said APAâ€™s coverage and position in relation the army is praiseworthy because the agency has always attached importance to promotion of the army and showed professionalism.
Mrs. Vusale Mahirgizi said APA wishes strong ands high discipline in the army and praises Ex-Servicemen Youth Awareness Public Associationâ€™s efforts to create a bridge between the army and media.
According to her, thanks to the activities of the Association, media representativesâ€™ trip to front line trenches have become a routine given that this was a serious problem five years ago.
She expressed her agencyâ€™s support for such projects.
â€œYoung people’s awareness about the military is very important. I think media should be very careful with stories about the army. Defaming articles shouldnâ€™t be published in newspapers,â€ she added.
Mrs. Vusale Mahirgizi fielded questions by participants.
