Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. “Press Council is the elective body of media in Azerbaijan. Press Council was established at the common congress of journalists. Chairman and management board of the council were elected at the congress. In this case there is no need to institute press ombudsman,” head of socio-political department of the President’s Administration Ali Hasanov said answering the journalists question about the proposals to institute press ombudsman in Azerbaijan, APA reports.
According to Hasanov, the issue may be discussed, if Azerbaijani journalists consider that there is a need for press ombudsman.
“There is no need for a press ombudsman, as there is Press Council,” he said.
