Head of Public Relations Department of the Chief State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 1148 traffic accidents were recorded in Azerbaijan from January till June 1. 1247 people were injured, 443 died as a result of these accidents.
Pedestrians were hit in 453 road accidents during the reporting period. 351 people were injured and 154 died in these accidents.
The number of traffic accidents increased by 10%, fatalities by 41%, injuries by 9% in Azerbaijan compared to last year.
Aliyev noted that 417 traffic accidents happened in Baku, 428 people were injured and 137 died in the reporting period.
