Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Andriy Pyshnyy has submitted his resignation, Delo.ua reports, citing a source in the banking market.

According to the source, Pyshnyy submitted his resignation voluntarily due to health reasons. It is reported that his resignation was planned after his return from the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Bangkok.

According to the report, NBU First Deputy Governor Sergiy Nikolaychuk, Finance Minister Sergii Marchenko, and NBU Council member Vasyl Horbal are being mentioned as possible replacements for Pyshnyy.

It should be noted that searches were conducted today by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) at the NBU building and the residence of one of the bank's employees. NABU stated that no one was detained during the searches and no one was given the status of a suspect. The NBU, meanwhile, announced that it continues to operate as normal.
