Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Former officer of Crime Investigation Department of Interior Ministry Haji Mammadov, who is serving a life sentence, has hired a lawyer again, law-enforcement agencies told APA.
According to information, the rights of Haji Mammadov, who is in the jail of the Ministry of National Security, will be defended by lawyer Aydin Nazarli. A related contract has already been signed.
The law-enforcement agencies said that Nazarli met with Haji Mammadov in the jail some days ago. The results of the meeting are not publicized.
Though, Nazarli confirmed to APA that he will defend Mammadov’s rights, he did not want to go into the details: “I can not talk about this”.
Haji Mammadov was imprisoned for life over charges of grave crimes in 2006. He did not hire a lawyer after his lawyer Samad Aliyev died.
Earlier, he cut off contacts with everyone, even refused to meet with his close relatives.
