The Ministry told APA that as of June 1, 2013, 59156 houses and social facilities were reviewed, 6065 houses and social facilities were considered unfit for use, decisions were made on reconstruction of 11 236 houses and social facilities, repair of 24101 houses and social facilities, 17754 houses and social facilities were considered to be satisfactory.
The construction of 3415 private houses had been completed in three regions in the quake-hit north-western region of Azerbaijan by June 1. 2885 of these houses are in Zagatala, 325 in Gakh, 205 in Balaken. 1687 houses are under construction.
The construction of 36 schools, including 20 in Zagatala, 11 in Gakh, 3 in Sheki, 2 in Balaken region has started. As of June 1, 2013, 6720-pupil 26 school buildings, 55-children kindergarten were opened. 480-seat school in Mukhakh village of Zagatala has been reconstructed.
Quake hit Zagatala on May 7, 2012. Houses, social and infrastructure facilities have been damaged as a result of this quake in Zagatala, Balakan and Gakh regions.
Operative staff has been established to eliminate the consequences of the quake, commission has been created to determine damaged homes and facilities, the sites have been inspected.
According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on May 8, 2012 under the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, AZN 20 million was allocated from the Reserve Fund to eliminate the consequences of the quake. In connection with the amendments in the 2012 state budget, AZN 300 million was allocated to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters, AZN 100 million was allocated under the order of the Cabinet of Ministers issued on October, 2012. Totally AZN 420 mln was allocated.
Consequences of the natural disaster are being eliminated and all kind of aid is being provided to quake-affected people under the instructions of the President.
