Initial cause of plant accident in Azerbaijan revealed - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED-1

The accident was caused by an electrical short circuit, Samit Abiyev, the first deputy head of the Shirvan city executive authority, told APA.

Abiyev said the family of a woman killed in the accident will be provided with financial assistance.

A fire broke out at the plant on Monday 11:55 AM left one dead and several injured. The fire covered an area of 30 square meters, Usubagha Mammadov, the director of Telemekhanika plant, told APA.

According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit, he said, noting the reports that 2 died, 30 were injured in the fire are untrue.

Health Ministry spokesperson Liya Bayramova told APA that 19 people were taken to the Shirvan city hospital with a diagnosis of poisoning and burns. 13 were discharged after outpatient treatment. 6 injured are undergoing treatment.

Shirvan. Alibey Zeynalli, Farid Mirzayev – APA. 19 people were injured as a result of the industrial accident occurred on Monday at Telemekhanika plant owned by Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry in the country’s Shirvan city.

All the injured, who suffered from mild poisoning as a result of the explosion caused by the accident at the plant, were hospitalized, Health Ministry spokesperson Liya Bayramova told APA.

According to Bayramova, the injured are receiving necessary assistance at the toxicological department.

The victim of the accident has been identified. It turned out to be a Shirvan city resident Suleymanova Raziya, 48. According to preliminary information, she died of severe burn injuries.

11 injured were discharged after receiving outpatient care.

Shirvan. Alibey Zeynalli - APA. An industrial accident occurred at Telemekhanika plant owned by Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry in the country’s Shirvan city on Monday.

According to preliminary information, one died and several people were injured as the ceiling of a shop at the plant collapsed.

Defense Industry Minister Yavar Jamalov arrived at the scene.

The causes of the accident are being investigated. The dead and injured are being identified.
