Baku. Faiq Mahmudov – APA. The United States, Georgia, and a number of EU countries helped Russian secret services prevent possible terrorist attacks on the venues where the Sochi Olympic Games took place, Director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov told reporters on Thursday, Interfax reported.

 

“During the preparation for and holding of the 2014 Olympics, we, together with our partners from many countries – especially France, Germany, Austria, the United States and Georgia, managed to prevent a series of terrorist attacks on the Olympic venues,” said Bortnikov.

 

Talking about the mechanism of such international cooperation, he recalled that the representatives of special service agencies of a number of countries, including Russia, took part in the provision of security during the Baku-2015 1st European Games.

 

“Representatives of special service agencies of a number of countries, including Russia, played a role in the provision of security during the 1st European Games recently held in Baku,” he added.
