Head of Public Relations Department of the Chief State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 1,608 road accidents were recorded during this period. 636 died, 1,736 were injured in these accidents.
During the reporting period, pedestrians were hit in 615 road accidents. As a result, 218 died, 454 were injured.
48 children died, 156 were injured during this period.
Aliyev also added that 51 drunken drivers committed road accidents in 7 months of 2013. Consequently, 22 died, 67 were injured.
Compared to last year, number of road accidents decreased by 59, fatalities by 46, injuries by 71 facts.
