Head of Public Relations Department of the Chief State Traffic Police Office Kamran Aliyev told APA that 718 traffic accidents were recorded from January 1 till August 31 this year. 254 died, 530 were injured in these accidents.
56 children died, 189 were injured during this period. 61 drunken drivers committed road accidents in 8 months of 2013. Consequently, 25 died, 79 were injured.
263 people died, 504 were injured in 560 accidents occurred due to high speed. 271 people died, 777 were injured in 584 accidents occurred due to the violation of rules for overtaking.
111 traffic accidents were recorded in Azerbaijan on September 12-20. 32 people died and 159 were injured.
1897 718 traffic accidents were recorded in Azerbaijan in the first 8 months of this year. 754 died, 2 044 were injured in these accidents.
