The final court hearing on the criminal case initiated by the State Security Service (SSS) against Khagani Omarov, Anar Salamzade, and Elchin Azizov, who were charged with financing terrorism, has been held, APA reports.
The verdict was announced at the hearing presided over by Judge Nigar Imanova at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes.
According to the verdict, Khagani Omarov was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months, Anar Salamzade to 11 years, and Elchin Azizov to 10 years of imprisonment.
It should be noted that the mentioned individuals were detained as a result of an operation conducted by the SSS. The investigative body determined that the defendants had transferred financial funds to certain individuals operating in a foreign country for the purpose of supporting terrorism. They were charged under Article 214-1 (financing terrorism) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
