During the latest operation of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs, 10 kg of narcotic substances and 2,600 psychotropic pills were discovered, APA reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Operations to prevent the illegal circulation of narcotic substances are continuing by officers of the Main Directorate for Combating Drugs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the next measures held in the Absheron and Garadagh districts, 23-year-old Akbar Alizade and 36-year-old Rahib Mammadov were detained.
Approximately 10 kilograms of marijuana with harmful additives and 2,600 psychotropic methadone pills were seized from them.
It was revealed that the detainees had obtained the drugs by entering into criminal relations with Iranian citizens, whose identities are being investigated, and planned to place them at predetermined points for sale.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incidents, and operational-investigative measures are ongoing.
