Azerbaijan sentences women who blackmailed British citizen and took AZN 200,000

The trial on the criminal case of Elnara Nasraddinova and Yasaman Mammadova, who are accused of extorting money through threatening from a citizen of Great Britain, has ended, APA reports.

The verdict was announced at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, in the proceedings chaired by judge Azad Majidov.

Accused Elnara Nasraddinova was sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment by the verdict. The other accused, Yasaman Mammadova was sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment and was arrested in the courtroom.

According to the accusation, Elnara Nasraddinova and Yasaman Mammadova threatened the victim, Greer Christopher with disseminating disgraceful information about him, and obtained official documents belonging to him as well. They received AZN 205,823 from the British citizen through threats.
