A person placed on an international wanted list has been extradited from Azerbaijan to Russia, Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
It was noted that cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies in combating crime continues successfully. The request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for the extradition of Mikael Kostanovich Mundshayn, born on 25.02.1984, a Russian citizen who was charged with fraud and placed on an interstate wanted list in 2023, has been granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In accordance with the Convention of 07.10.2002 “On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters,” a decision was made on the extradition of the accused person, who was handed over to the competent authorities of the Russian Federation under escort by the Special Convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
