Baku schools to hold event on Khojali genocide

The leadership of Khojali Genocide Recognition Center held a press conference, APA reports. The head of the center Shamil Sabiroglu said that the main aim in establishing this center is to propagandize the genocide truths in Azerbaijan and international arena. Shamil Sabiroglu said that they plan a number of events on Khojali genocide. He said that events will be held on the eve of the genocide in secondary and high schools. An agreement was reached with Baku Education Board on holding events in over 20 schools.
â€œ1500 people died during the genocide. It should be investigated,â€? he said.
Former head of Khojali Executive Power, parliamentarian Elman Mammadov said that it is useless to search for guilty in Azerbaijan.
â€œThe enemy can use these views against us. Only the cases concerning Armenians and Russians should be investigated,â€? he said.
Elman Mammadov said he is dissatisfied with the climate in the country on the eve of the genocide.
â€œThis attitude is very painful for the Khojali people. If we do not realize this tragedy ourselves, what can we expect from other states,â€? he said.
