Credit system applied in eight high schools

Today, Education Ministry and UNESCO held national seminar on â€œCredit system in Azerbaijan high schoolsâ€?, APA reports. The Education Minister Misir Mardanov said that these seminar was organized in the frame of the partnership memorandum signed during UNESCO Director Generalâ€™s last visit to Azerbaijan in August last year. Reminding that the transition of high schools to credit system is one of the main demands of Bologna process, the minister noted that the credit system has some advantages. This system allows the students have their own education plan, to choose the teachers on their will, allow teachers to define teaching load according to the studentâ€™s plan, to conduct seminars and lectures only by one teacher. Mardanov said that beginning from this year, some faculties of eight high schools transited to credit system- Baku State University, Azerbaijani Oil Academy, Baku Slavic University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan Construction and Architecture University, Azerbaijan Pedagogical University and Azerbaijan Languages University. /APA/
