During 2006 in Ganja 245 people appealed to various instances of courts, alleging their labour rights were violated. Labour and Social Protection Ministry Officer in the region Akbar Nasibli told APA that 150 of the appeals were redirected from the President’s Office and other governmental bodies on the basis of the people’s complaints and 95 appeals were received from people directly.
He said that most of the appeals were against industrial enterprises and secondary schools.
“They complained about illegal dismissal, lack of employment agreement, and deduction of salaries and other payments. Our officers process the appeals and try to restore the rights of complainants. Settlement of the disputes was mostly in favor of complaints, he said. /APA/
