Punishment of a person, arrested during action of the Public Chamber, mitigated

Baku â€“ APA. â€˜The information in some media about supposed bureaucracy and postponement of sending of appeals connected with conditional release of prisoners or passing them to precinct type penal institutions to the court bodies does not reflect the truth. This issue is always in the focus of attention of the Penitentiary Service of the Justice Ministry and relevant bodies, chiefs of jailsâ€, Public Relations Department of the Penitentiary Service under Justice Ministry told APA. The information notes according to the acting legislation, the appeals, connected with conditional release of prisoners or passing them to precinct type penal institutions, are sent to the court bodies by chiefs of those penal institutions without delay. Together with the application of prisoners, his personal work and consideration on behavior during the period are also sent to the court: â€˜For example, Arif Hajibala Alishli, who has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment under articles #233, #186.1, #66.3 of the Criminal Code, applied Khazar district court of Baku city after having served one third of the sentence . The court after reviewing his application, decided to transfer him to a precinct type penal institution. Today, he was transferred to one of the precinct type prisonâ€™.

Note that, Arif Alishli was one of the persons, detained during the unauthorized action of the Public Chamber in Baku on 2 April. Under the courtâ€™s decision, he was sentenced to 3 years of in prison.
