Person detained in Zagatala by Azerbaijani National Security Ministry over terrorism was driver of Shaki Appeals Courtâ€™s former chairman

The regionâ€™s law-enforcement bodies told APA that it was found out that Anar Isfandiyar Ramazanov, who was detained as a result of the special operation, was crime partner of the head of the illegal armed group detained in Gandja Vugar Padarov, and the driver of the former chairman of Shaki Appeals Court Ramazan Burjayev. It was found out that Ramazanov committed the criminal actions when he was the driver of Burjayev. In order to cover up the traces, the group members used the service vehicle of the court chairman. Ramazanov helped deliver to the necessary places the weapons obtained by the member of Padarovâ€™s group Rashad Ashurov. All this was done when Burjayev was chairman of Shaki Appeals Court.

Burjayev retired late in 2010.

The Ministry of National Security conducted large-scale special operations in the cities of Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, in the regions of Gakh, Zagatala, Sheki, Gusar, Absheron and Khachmaz to disarm the dangerous group, which seriously threatened the socio-political life of the country, to prevent the terrorist attacks.

Armed resistance by the group in some cases was prevented and members of the group, citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan â€“ Nuraliyev Elmir Maarif, Sultanov Faig Sahib, Muradov Amir Zakrulla, Aliyev Aghasadig Tofig, Abbasoglu Nariman Israfil, Hasanov Aydin Azad, Hasanov Arif Azad, Lalayev Bahruz Mahmud, Ashurov Rashad Rajab, Ashurov Majid Ahmadovich, Padarov Mehdi Ispakhan, Yunusov Nasrullah Arif, Efendiyev Rauf Aydin, Hamidov Elmir Kamal, Mammadov Mammad Shaban, Allahveridyev Ruslan Sahib, Suleymanov Faig Suleyman, Garajayev Teymur Mahammad and Lalayev Mahmud Bagi were detained.

During the operation, gunman Vugar Padarov and others hiding with them did not obey the legal requirement to surrender and opened fire continuously and threw grenade. Padarov, using armed resistance and force to the authorities during the execution of their official duties, was killed and Faig Sultanov and Amir Muradov were also detained.
