Appeal of persons accused of beating British human rights activist and American journalist rejected

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh – APA. The judicial process on the appellate appeal by Adil Tagizadeh, Roman Hasanov, Vusal Gurbanov and Nazim Huseynov, who were accused of committing violence and beating British citizen Silvia Davies and US citizen Amanda Erickson, has been continued today in Baku Appeal Court. The court rejected their appellate appeal.

According to the verdict issued by the Yasamal district court of Baku Nazim Huseynov was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment, each of others – to 2 years.

At night from June 15 to 16, U.S. citizen Amanda Eriksson and British citizen Sylvia Davis were attacked and beaten on Vidadi Street of Baku’s Yasamal District. The same day in connection with the occurrence it was prosecuted under Article 221.2.1 of the Criminal Code, the perpetrators’ identikit was designed and forensic-medical examination was carried out. It was determined that the crime was committed Adil Tagizadeh, Roman Hasanov, Vusal Gurbanov and Nazim Huseynov and they were arrested.
