Azerbaijani General Prosecutorâ€™s Office issues statement on illegal acts committed by Royal Bankâ€™s officials

According to information, the investigation of criminal case, launched in Office on Combating Corruption under General Prosecutorâ€™s Office on the basis of special decision received from Nasimi district Court on illegal acts of officials of Khazar branch of Royal bank OJSC, was finished. The investigation revealed that Rinad Mammadov while working as a chief of Khazar branch of Royal bank OJSC united with treasurer of the branch Rasif Aliyev, its specialist Ayaz Shiraliyev and the others, made false loan agreements, expenditure vouchers and other official documents, added false information to computer system of the bank, issued false loans for 92 people, including Jamila Aliyeva, Naila Pashayeva and others and misappropriated money in amount of AZN 459,571. Besides, Mammadov spent AZN 163,338 of stolen money to production shop of constructional materials in 0.1ha land parcel acquired in Gobu settlement of Absheron district, and production of glue for tiles and sandstone plates on behalf of â€œCaspian-017 Productionâ€ LLC.

Mammadov was accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–179.3.2, 193-1.3.2, 308.2 and 313 and was sent to pretrial detention.

The other employees of the branch Rasif Aliyev was accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–179.3.2 and 308.2, Ayaz Shiraliyev, Ramin Karimov and Huseyn Apishov were accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„–32.5, 179.3.2, Tamara Guliyeva, Iftikhar Hasanov, Orkhan Aghayev and Samir Atakishiyev were accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s article â„–308.2 and Rauf Gasimov was accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s article â„–308.1. Former Chief of Gobu municipality Mubariz Bayramov, who presented illegally the 0.1ha land parcel to Rinad Mammadov, was accused of Criminal Codeâ€™s article â„–308.1. On April 14, 2012, the indictment on the criminal case was approved and sent to Baku Serious Crimes Court for examination.
