Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. More than 2 000 people participated in the funeral prayer for Azerbaijani religious figure killed in Russia. APA’s Moscow correspondent reports that representatives of the Muslim communities also participated in the funeral prayer in the mosque at Peace Avenue. After the funeral, Mehdiyev’s body was brought to the Kuzminsky cemetery and buried. Chairman of Russian Muftis Council Ravil Gaynutdin led the funeral.
Mehdiyev was killed in Vtoraya Bretskaya 43, Moscow at 02.00 on April 10.
The Investigation Committee has launched criminal case, investigation is underway.
