Azerbaijani General Prosecutorâ€™s Office launches criminal investigation due to exaggeration of debt by Azerigaz

Press service of the office told APA that the department on combating corruption investigated the facts sent by Baku Appeal Court concerning the illegal acts by the officials of Nasimi district Gas Exploitation Office.

It was revealed that Azeriqaz Production Association filed a law suit against the Scientific Research Traumatic Surgery and Orthopedic Institute of Azerbaijan Ministry of Health and demanded to pay AZN 295 724 debt for gas supply.

While investigating the appeal in the Baku Administrative and Economic Court â„–1 and Baku Appeal Court, it was revealed the acts presented by Nasimi district Gas Exploitation Office were falsified and real debt was in amount of AZN 33.531.

The criminal case was launched into the fact according to the Criminal Codeâ€™s articles â„– 308 (abusing official powers) and â„–313 (service forgery).

The investigation is underway.
