Chiefs of 14 penitentiaries dismissed from their posts, some of them dismissed from justice agencies in Azerbaijan in the first half of year

Guliyev said the struggle against illicit drug turnover focused on the prevention of the smuggling of drugs into the penitentiaries. He said AZN 11 940, 106 l alcoholic drinks, 78 mobile phones, 161.2g drugs were seized as a result of the operations carried out at the penitentiaries in the first half of the year. Disciplinary liability was imposed on 112 employees of the Penitentiary Service, 12 were dismissed in the reporting period.

Under the orders given by chief of the Penitentiary Service, chiefs of penitentiaries #2, 5, 6, 7, 10, correctional facility, jail, detention facility #3, penitentiaries #8, 9, 12, special facilities #2, 4 ,6 were dismissed from their posts, some of them were dismissed from the justice agencies.

Medet Guliyev underlined that the Penitentiary Service and the subordinated agencies fulfilled the tasks in the first half of the year, positive results were achieved. Instructions were given to eliminate the shortcomings and wrongdoings, improve the future activity.
