According to APA, Ismayilov was awarded for his service in Soviet Army in 1984-1986 in Afghanistan and heroism in the battles around Heart, Jalalabad and Kabul. Retired Major-General of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Boris Victorov visited Azerbaijan to present the medal to Ismayilov. Ukraine’s Presidential Medal and medal of the Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs were presented to Nazim Ismayilov at the ceremony attended by the chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs Ramiz Akhundov.
Addressing the ceremony, Ismayilov said he was a soldier of Azerbaijan and ready to fight for restoration of the territorial integrity of the country on order of Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
