Fire extinguished in Azerbaijanâ€™s Ismayilli region

APA reports that the wild fire blazed up in the mountainous areas of Geraybeyli and Eyyubbeyli villages of Ismayilli region, burning bushes and small trees along the Girdiman river at 9.00 today.

The fire covered a larger territory. Fire engines and firefighters of Ismayilli, Agsu, Goychay and Kurdamir regions, the soldiers of the civil defense troops in Shamakhy and three helicopters were involved in extinguishing the fire. At about 18.00 the fire was extinguished.

Though the fire has not been extinguished completely, there is no danger of spread. The hotbeds of fire are being extinguished. The territory is under control. 6ha area has been reportedly burnt.

The causes of the fire are not known. Officials of North-West Regional Center and State Firefighting Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are at the site.
